Installation and site work completed in accordance with Ontario requirements.
Demolition removes buildings, structures, concrete, foundations, pavements, equipment bases, and civil infrastructure through a planned sequence that protects retained work, utilities, workers, neighbours, and the next construction phase. Harrowgate manages structural dismantling, machine demolition, saw cutting, concrete processing, service isolation support, sorting, haulage, excavation, and site preparation across the GTA and Ontario.
Clean site work and a tidy finish, coordinated with your engineers, the other trades, and the surrounding site conditions, built to the engineered drawings and the applicable codes.
The applicable building, structure, method, condition, and regulation determine when a professional engineer must prepare and review a demolition plan. Ontario Regulation 260/08 defines required engineering performance where it applies. Harrowgate confirms the permit and plan requirements before mobilization and follows the issued methodology, sequence, temporary support, and site-visit provisions.
Yes. Ontario construction rules require gas, electrical, and other services that could endanger people to be shut off and disconnected before demolition and remain so during the work. Harrowgate obtains documented isolation, verifies exposed conditions, protects retained feeds, and treats an unidentified pipe or cable as live until its status is proven.
The method depends on material, contaminants, weather, neighbouring operations, and discharge restrictions. Harrowgate can use localized mist, tool extraction, barriers, negative-air systems for controlled interiors, covered loads, and road cleaning. Water is applied without creating unsafe visibility, electrical exposure, contaminated runoff, or a slurry that enters municipal drainage.
Processed concrete may be suitable for an approved granular or fill use when environmental, geotechnical, gradation, metal-removal, and project requirements are met. Harrowgate keeps it separate from gypsum, wood, regulated material, soil, and garbage, then crushes or places only under the approved specification. Reuse is documented as a deliberate material stream.
Retained limits are surveyed or physically marked, connections are exposed, and temporary support is installed before cutting changes the load path. Harrowgate uses saw cuts, small equipment, hand tools, lifting points, vibration controls, and staged releases suited to the interface. The exposed edge is inspected and protected from weather and impact immediately after removal.
The contract defines whether they are removed fully, cut to a depth, filled, capped, grouted, or recorded in place. Harrowgate exposes the actual limits, confirms service status, removes or closes them by the approved detail, and surveys remaining points. Voids are backfilled and compacted for the intended future load rather than simply covered.
Provide surveys, structural drawings, designated-substance reports, utility and process information, demolition permit conditions, engineered sequence, retained-work limits, temporary-support design, access and floor-load limits, noise and dust restrictions, salvage requirements, waste classifications, haul routes, below-grade removal limits, backfill specification, and the final handoff elevation or surface condition.
